Terms and conditions

1. The service

CarApp (كارآب) is an international transport company whose app lets passengers in Mauritania book rides carried out by drivers through the app, in Nouakchott and Nouadhibou.

2. Your account

• You sign up with your phone number and agree to provide accurate, up-to-date information.
• You are responsible for keeping your account secure and for requests made from it.

3. Booking and prices

• The price is shown in the app before you confirm, and your request is sent after you confirm.
• The price depends on the category; the minimum fare is 100 MRU.
• Driver and car details appear once a driver accepts your request; we recommend checking them before you get in.
• Cancelling a request is subject to the rules shown in the app at the time of booking.

4. Payment

You pay for the ride in cash, or electronically with Bankily, Masrvi, Sedad and BIMBANK, and agree to pay for the rides you book.

5. Offers

Offers, such as the new user offer, are subject to the conditions announced for each one, and CarApp may change or end them.

6. Booking for others and the Alfani feature

When you book a ride for someone else or share a place via “Alfani”, you are responsible for the requests and links you create and share.

7. Conduct during the ride

• Respect the driver and follow safety rules.
• Do not use the service for any unlawful purpose.
• Do not damage the car.

CarApp may suspend or close any account that breaches these terms.

8. Lost items

If you left something in the car, contact customer service on 1858 or from the app as soon as possible, and we will help you reach the driver.

9. Limitation of liability

CarApp does its best to provide an available and safe service; to the extent permitted by law, CarApp is not liable for indirect damages arising from use of the service.

10. Intellectual property

The CarApp name, logo, app and website content belong to CarApp and may not be used without permission.

11. Privacy

We handle your data in line with our privacy policy.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms and will publish the updated version on this page with its last-updated date. By continuing to use the service, you accept them.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Islamic Republic of Mauritania.
