How do I book a taxi in Nouakchott?
Download the CarApp app, set your destination by voice message, from your places, by typing or on the map, then choose a category and confirm the price; your request is sent right away.
Can I book without typing?
Yes, with Vocal, the voice assistant: it asks « انتم اشواعدين؟ » (“where are you going?”) and you say your destination out loud. Or tap “Call & Ride” to call the service centre for free.
What is the “Call & Ride” feature?
A free call to the CarApp service centre from inside the app, with no credit needed. Your location is sent automatically; you just say your destination and the ride is booked for you.
Can I book a car for someone else?
Yes, you can book a ride for another person from the app, or share a place with them using the Alfani feature.
What is the Alfani feature?
You share your location or one of your places as a link (for example on WhatsApp); the recipient taps it and a ride to that place is booked. They need the CarApp app; if they don’t have it, the link takes them to the store.
When do the driver’s details appear?
Once a driver accepts your request: name, photo and rating, plus the car’s model, colour and plate.
Does the service run 24 hours a day?
Yes, CarApp is available 24/7.

How much does a ride cost in Nouakchott?
The fare is shown in the app before you confirm and depends on the category. The minimum fare is 100 MRU.
What payment methods are available?
In cash, or electronically with Bankily, Masrvi, Sedad and BIMBANK.
What’s the difference between CarApp and CarApp Plus?
CarApp is a comfortable car at an economy price; CarApp Plus offers luxury cars for a small price difference.
What is the new user offer?
50 MRU off each of the first 3 rides for every new user who downloads the app, so your ride starts from 50 MRU, since the minimum fare is 100 MRU.
